Elgin City are delighted to announce the signing forward Joel Macbeath on a two-year deal.

The 19-year-old, who was previously at Ross County, had a spell on loan at League One Montrose last season.

Speaking after signing for City, Macbeath said:  “I am delighted to join Elgin City which will allow me to focus on the next chapter of my career.

“I know what the club did last season and hopefully we can go one step further this year by clinching promotion.

“The club has high aspirations and a great history which encouraged me to sign. I am looking forward to meeting the rest of my team and getting started.”

Chairman Graham Tatters added: “We are delighted to sign Joel, he will be a good addition to our squad and we are pleased he has chosen to commit his future to the club.

“He is an Elgin lad and although he is still only 19, he has already gained valuable experience in Division 1 while on loan at Montrose. It also is great to have another local player added to our squad.”
