The Directors of Elgin City Football Club hope everyone is keeping safe and well and dealing with the withdrawal symptoms of no football.

There is little we can do about the lack of our favourite sport for the foreseeable future.  The considered opinion by the scientific staff is nothing before August.

Following the recent acceptance of the SPFL’s resolution to end the season early we are now in a position to start preparation for the start of season 20-21.

Elgin City Football Club voted to accept the resolution.  Once there was no chance of the playoffs we felt it was important to end the 19-20 campaign so we could start preparing for 20-21.

What structure the leagues will be in then and how many clubs survive this traumatic period is anyone’s guess.  It is our feeling that the time will come in the future for reconstruction but as we have no idea how many clubs will survive the coming months, now is not the time.

The club would welcome the thoughts of our supporters on League reconstruction, good or bad, to help shape our contribution to the forthcoming debate. Please email Keiran your suggestions to [email protected]

The support received from our loyal supporters to date has been incredible and will greatly help the clubs finances over the coming weeks.

If you haven’t already done so and you are able, please donate to our Just Giving page here, and if you are not a member, please join our City Saver Scheme by clicking here – to quote the phrase “every penny will help”.

Thanks for all your support and please be safe, stay home and see you when we eventually start playing again.
